Japanese writer. Born in Kyoto, Japan in 1984. Graduated from Waseda University.In 2001, she won the Literature and Art Award for Install. In 2004, she won the Akutagawa Award for her work I Want to Kick You in the Back. In 2012, she won the Kenzaburo Ohe Award for her performance in I feel sorry for you, don’t you? In 2020, she won the Shima Sei Love Literature Award for her work "Just Living Together Simply".
